Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). They moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five where she attended an academy called the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to be an actor when she was six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. As a ten year old Emma was a participant in numerous Stagecoach Productions as well as school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaption of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was found by agents through their Oxford teacher. After eight consistent auditions the producer David Heyman told Emma and the other candidates Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of three of the leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. The film broke records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film was well-received by reviewers, and so were the performance of three new stars. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. Afterward, Emma was shortlisted for five prizes for her work in the film, winning the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in a Feature Film.
